Previously in science class, we started to learn about how energy passes through a community. First, the sun gives heat energy to the producers. Then the producers give off heat because it it working hard to process the heat energy. After that, the producers die and when the consumers eat them, the nutrient and heat energy from the producers goes directly to the consumers. They also give off heat because their body is working hard to process. From this point, the consumers would die. When the decomposer decomposes the heat and nutrient energy form the consumers, they give off heat from working to hard also. At this point in the food chain, there is no more heat energy. This happened because as each organism eats another, it takes away some of the energy. Therefore, the decomposers give the nutrient energy to an inorganic nutrient pool, then from there back to the producers and the chain starts again. There could also be a scenario that instead of the producer giving both of it's energy types straight to the decomposers. Then to the inorganic nutrient pool to the producers. It is very important that you know that for each time an organism gives it's energy to another, it loses some of it's energy during the process. Have you ever wondered why when you feel sick your mom fells your head. Well, when you work to hard to break down what you have eaten, you give off heat that you can feel pretty well from your forehead. (all of this information is at a courtesy of my science teacher.)

Global Warming- Is It Real?????
http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2004/12/1206_041206_global_warming.html
Whether we like it or not, global warming is here to haunt us. Over the past few decades, the average temperatures for a lot of places have increased about 1.4 degrees Fahrenheit. This doesn't seem very bad but after decades of this happening, it could affect the world. During these past few decades, it has been the hottest that we have seen since around 400 years ago. If you think this is bad, average temperatures is Alaska, the west part of Canada and the east part of Russia have increased around 2.8 degrees. In these places were polar animals live, ice is evaporating. Some of these animals can only survive in these kind of conditions. Therefore it is killing some of these animals. In 2040, we could very well have the first ice-free summer. That means that all the ice in these places will eventually melt and polar animals will become extinct. For example, in 1910, the Glacier National Park had 150 glaciers and it now has only 27! Global warming is very important and shouldn't be taken as a joke. If you have been wondering why there has been so many hurricanes and tornados in the past few years, you just found your answer. Global warming is a very big part of these storms. In a report by the IPCC in February 2007, they said that it was"very likely" that humans are causing it. But, not every one believes this. This report was written by 2,500 scientists in more than 130 countries. They came to a decision that all or most of the current planetary warming has been caused by humans. Some people believe this and some people believe that everything is natural. They believe this because the earth is in a cycle that is soooo big that no one knows why Ice ages have stopped. They also don't know if there has been a global warming before. The world could cycle between these two things. I believe that this is true. The world is in a cycle were this happens every huge bunch of decades. Which one do you think is true?
