The Inauguration of Barak Obama

I found two terrific websites on Obama's inauguration. As we all know, on Tuesday, January 20 2009, Barak Obama made history. All of the united States presidents wer all white. For the first time we have an african american president. Trust me, I am as excited as you. Both articles talk about ow big of a moment in history this was. You may know that he swore on the same bible that Abrahm Lincoln swore on. If you didn't now you do! I find it pretty amazing that they know where this bible was and the shape the bible was in.

The first article talks about a man how is very young that Obama calls the "presidents mindreader." He is 27 year old Jon Favreau and he is the co-writer of Barak's speech. As the youngest chief speech writer ever recorded, he is doing very well for his age. Throughout the article it explains the relationship between the president and his speech writer.

The second article talks about first how Obama made a mistake during his swear. It only shows that he is human. It also talks about other presidents mistakes. For examle, William Henry Harrison's speech was an hour and forty minutes. That may not be a mistake, but it was a rediculious amount of time. The article states that the crowd was singing this land is your land and instead of hit the road Jack, it was hit the road Bush. While singing, they realized they had to sing some thing about beinga "historic" event but was unfourtunate to find any synonyms. I still wonder why Harrison's speech was so long.
